I <3 LUSH COSMETICS!

January 20th, 2011 by Amanda Filed under: Blog | Comment (0)

My latest obsession is Lush Handmade Cosmetics! WOW, their stuff is great and their staff is even more amazing!

I have been to numerous dermatologist and tried every cleanser and skin care regimign out there including: Mary kay, Pro Active, Philosophy, Dermologica, Glo Minerals Skincare, Murad, and tons of doctor prescribed cleansers, toners, and moisturizers. None of these products really changed anything. I invested money in a Clarisonic, Facials, Peels, you name it, I tried it. All of these different treatments and cleansing regimens only left my skin irritated, dry, and red. Boo!

Then recently I discovered LUSH. Ahhhhh! The clouds have finally parted and God has blessed me with LUSH. :) All of their products are made with fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics. They invent their own products and fragrances. Lush makes all their products fresh by hand using little or no preservative or packaging, using only vegetarian ingredients, and tell you when they were made. They buy their ingredients only from companies that do not commission tests on animals and in testing products on humans. Thier products are absolutely amazing! You have to try them. Once you go LUSH you won’t ever want to go back to whatever it is you were using before.

I especially love their Skin Nanny Facial Moisturizer. Skin Nanny has natural AHAs from the fresh apple juice, helping to combat free radicals. And Cold press oils and Starflower oil to moisturize and hydrate your skin. I usually have very oily skin but since moving to Chicago it has come very dry. Skin Nanny has saved my face, for real!

I use it after I wash my face with their super fabulous Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser. It’s made with finely ground almonds and heaps of lavender. It also has Rose oil and lavender oil which are wonderfully toning, while the gentle exfoliation of the almonds helps to keep the skin clear and improve the texture of the skin. A pea-sized amount is all you need.

I could go on and on but I won’t. :) I’ll just tell you they have so many more products you definetely have to check out! Bath Bombs, Shower Bombs, Massage Bars, Shower Jellies, all kinds of cool stuff.

Right now they are having a 50% OFF sale on all their Holiday products! Check out all their awesome half price Holiday stuff HERE.

Looking for a funny movie?

January 19th, 2011 by Amanda Filed under: Blog | Comment (0)

So me & my guy always love finding new, good movies to watch. However, these days a good movie is few and far between. It really is unfortunate. Recently, we saw “True Grit” and I must say if he would’ve asked me if I wanted to leave the show, I would’ve said “Yes!”. LOL. It was just to soft for me. The main villian they were chasing the whole time turned out to be such a whimp. The movie left me feeling like, “wow that’ss it?!” Anyway, I’d suggest saving your money. That’s the first time my beloved IMDB let me down.

We missed it again by renting the movie “Stone” with Norton and Dinero. They were almost on to something but unfortunately for them alomost doesn’t count. I fell asleep halfway through the movie. With two strikes we managed to hit one out of the park with “The Other Guys”. I have to admit, I thought this movie was going to be another strike but it turned out to be absolutely hilarious! So many gooffy lines. Very funny. I definetely recommend renting this movie, kicking back, and laughing your ass off. And remember, Gator don’t take no shit! LOLOLOLOL

OMG Verizon’s Adrian Peterson NFL commercial is one of the best commercials ever. It’s right up there with Troy Polamalu’s Head & Shoulders Commercial. Love it!

New astrological sign?!

January 14th, 2011 by Amanda Filed under: Blog | Comment (1)

People might think they’re a Pisces (compassionate, imaginative), but often they’re really an Aquarius (witty, clever) — at least based on an exact reading of the Earth’s orbit. Or maybe, if you were born between Nov. 29 and Dec. 17, you’re actually a strange new zodiac sign: Ophiuchus, the serpent holder. But who wants to admit to being that snake-guy sign on a first date?

“I defined the zodiac by the constellations that are in the background when you look at where the sun, moon, and stars are,” said Minneapolis Community and Technical College instructor Parke Kunkle, the man responsible for momentarily turning the astrology world upside down. “Ophiuchus has been around a long time, and the sun has been going through Ophiuchus for thousands of years.”

In Kunkle’s 13-member zodiac, the signs occupy more or less space on the calendar depending upon how long they are in the sun’s path.

Although Ophiuchus (seeker of wisdom, lucky) has only what amounts to a celestial toe in the sun’s path, Kunkle defended its inclusion by noting it hosts the sun for more than twice as long as Scorpio (independent, passionate).
