I recently have been religiously replacing my daily coffee for cup of hot green tea. I’ve always heard there are great health benefits to drinking green tea but I was sure exactly what they were. Out of my own curiousity I did a little research and learned some pretty interesting benefits of drinking green tea.

It was the ancient Chinese people who first knew the benefits of green tea for health. They have always used it for medical purposes. However, in Ancient China, it was used especially against the headaches and depression. Green tea has a great importance in China history. It is produced from the leaves of Camellia Sinensis by some special processes. Unlike black tea, it has little amount of caffeine which causes to insomnia, nausea and frequent urination.

This is the list of benefits of green tea which I’ve found during my research.

  1. It is used to treat multiple sclerosis.
  2. It is used for treatment and prevention of cancer.
  3. It is used to stop Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
  4. It is used to raise the metabolism and increase fat oxidation.
  5. It reduces the risk of heart diseases and heart attacks by reducing the risk of trombosis.
  6. It reduces the risk of esophageal cancer.
  7. Drinking green tea inhibits the growth of certain cancer cells, reduces the level of cholesterol in blood, improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
  8. It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular diseases
  9. It is used to treat impaired immune function. .
  10. Some researches show that, drinking green tea regularly may help prevent tooth decay by killing the bacteria which causes the dental plaque.

Drinking to keep warm! ..What?!

(CBS) Employing an unusual but not untested tactic in defense against drunk driving charges, a Missouri man was acquitted by a jury of his DUI charges after testifying that he got drunk after crashing his car to keep warm, not before.

Thomas Drummond told the court he had been out with friends the night of the accident, reports The Southeast Missourian. While navigating icy conditions he missed a turn on an unfamiliar road, then attempted to turn around and drove into a culvert, he testified.

Drummond said he wasn’t intoxicated when he drove into the culvert but was two hours later when emergency workers and authorities arrived, the Missourian reports.

“It was the day before the Super Bowl and he had just done some shopping,” Defense Attorney Stephen Wilson said Monday. “It was 32 degrees or colder out and he had brandy in the car, so he kept warm.”

Earlier this year, Bravo TV’s Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice made similar claims when he flipped his pickup truck late one night. After crawling out of his destroyed Ford truck, Giudice said on the TV show that he had a couple of shots of whiskey with friends who happened to live nearby to calm his nerves before police and emergency crews arrived.

Regardless, police took custody of Giudice because of outstanding municipal warrants and charged him with a DUI, reports The Newark Star-Ledger.

Giudice was not as lucky as Drummond, however, as he was fined $864, had his driver’s license revoked for 12 months and was sentenced to 30 days of community service, reports the Examiner.

Crazy Crosswalk Signal

Spokane city street crews today fixed a malfunctioning crossing signal that appeared to be giving the one-finger salute.

The crossing light at 2nd Street and Walnut Avenue appeared to be flashing the bird when the “Don’t Walk” hand is displayed. Employees at nearby A to Z Rental said they noticed the change last week.

Haha I think it’s great!

Rear Projection Poses

The new photo pose in Russia that is spreading worldwide is called ‘Vilena-style’ modeling. Women hunch over to get their butt as high as possible and then photograph themselves in a mirror.

This unusual photo pose went viral after a woman named Vilena posted a nude photo in this pose on a social network. Vilena is a spin on Vladimir Lenin’s name that was popular when he was a national hero.

So far, Flickr is lacking in Vilena-style poses, so flop down on your bed, poke your rear in the air and snap away! Lol.
