NEW Rihanna “Who’s That Chick” Official Music Video

When Rihanna revealed that she’s left behind her dark days of Rated R and moved to a happier place, she wasn’t kidding. Not only has she taken the dance floor by storm with her first single from Loud, “Only Girl in the World”, she’s done the same in a new video for the dance tune “Who’s That Chick?” which leaked online on Friday.

Jonas Åkerlund (Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” and “Telephone”) directed the clip, which finds Rihanna in the center of a colorfest of dancers, lights and creatures of all sorts as she parades around in a multicolored ensemble. Making her way throughout the rainbow fantasy, Ri playfully smiles as lyrics pop up throughout the Japanese pop-inspired clip.

But don’t expect an official music video release, as the clip is not affiliated with the pop star’s forthcoming album — rather it’s a part of an endorsement campaign for Doritos.

On Saturday, Rihanna took to Twitter to clear the air, saying, “Who’s that Chick, is an online music video/commercial that we shot for Doritos and it got leaked………I don’t want u to get confused…Doritos is in no way connected to LOUD.”

Produced by David Guetta, “Who’s That Chick?” utilizes a synth sound and some heavy Auto-Tune. “She’s been a crazy dita/ Disco diva, and you wonder/ Who’s that chick? Who’s that chick?/ Too cold for you to keep her/ Too hot for you to leave her/ Who’s that chick? Who’s that chick?” she sings during the chorus.

Members of the Rihanna Navy may find the tune familiar as Guetta previewed the track earlier this year on a French radio station, but never revealed who the artist behind the high-energy song is.

Back in June, Guetta dished to MTV News about helping Rihanna return to the world of dance music. “Well, you know, I’m a DJ, so I make beats that make you wanna dance,” he said. “And I think she was one of the first to do that in that urban world, so you know, I think it would be good for her to do it again.”

Lady Gaga is always visually interesting. She never really fits into best or worst dressed, because she’s so … different. Last night, Lady Gaga wore an Alexander McQueen gown. It kind of looks like something you would’ve seen in Star wars, right?!

British singer, Florence Welch of Florence And The Machine (Dog Days Are Over), looked classic Hollywood glam in her golden Givenchy Couture gown.

Watched Pan’s Labyrinth last night …

September 13th, 2010 by Amanda Filed under: Blog | Comments (2)

For some time now I have been contemplating on watching this movie. I saw it had high ratings but I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a little to fantasy for me to grasp on to. However, I must say I am glad I finally rented it! They didn’t take the fantasy to far for me. It kept me engaged with the dark, violent world. If you haven’t watched it I would say you should go ahead and rent it. The movie is shot super well and some of the characters are pretty wicked. I must say the writer of this flick had a crazy imagination. Very cool!

This was my favorite demonic monster. Pretty wicked right!? Wow.

Pan’s Labyrinth has won numerous international awards, including three Academy Awards, the Ariel Award for Best Picture and the 2007 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form.

A massive traffic jam in north China that stretches for dozens of miles and hit its 10-day mark on Tuesday stems from road construction in Beijing that won’t be finished until the middle of next month, an official said.

Bumper-to-bumper gridlock spanning for 60 miles (100 kilometers) with cars moving little more than a half-mile (one kilometer) a day at one point has improved since this weekend, said Zhang Minghai, director of Zhangjiakou city’s Traffic Management Bureau general office.

But he said he wasn’t sure when the situation along the Beijing-Zhangjiakou highway would return to normal.

The traffic jam started Aug. 14 on a stretch of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou highway. That section has frequently been congested, especially after large coalfields were discovered in Inner Mongolia, Zhang said. Traffic volume has increased 40 percent every year.

Drivers stranded in the gridlock in the Inner Mongolia region and Hebei province, headed toward Beijing, passed the time sleeping, walking around, or playing cards and chess. Local villagers were doing brisk business selling instant noodles, boxed lunches and snacks, weaving between the parked trucks on bicycles.

The highway construction in Beijing that is restricting inbound traffic flow and causing the jam “will not be finished until Sept. 17,” he said.

Authorities were trying to speed up traffic by allowing more trucks to enter Beijing, especially at night, Zhang said. They also asked trucking companies to suspend operations and advised drivers to take alternate routes.

China’s roadways are increasingly overburdened as the number of private vehicles booms along with commercial truck traffic hauling materials like coal and food to cities. Traffic slowdowns because of construction and accidents are common, though a 10-day traffic jam is unusual even in China.
